Groundbreaking Ceremony for the New Fitness Trail in Wahlwies

On October 19, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new fitness trail at Aachgrund took place in Stockach-Wahlwies. Mayor Susen Katter emphasized that Wahlwies stands for community spirit and that the new trail will promote both health and social interaction.

The project is supported by many partners, including local head Alexander Buhl, cultural office director Corinna Bruggaier, the Kammerer Medical Group, the LEADER funding program, and the city’s technical services. Funding is substantial: 60% of the costs are covered by LEADER, and 20% by the Kammerer Medical Group.

World champion runner Benedikt Hoffmann has taken on the patronage of the trail. Videos of him demonstrating the exercises will be available at each station. Hoffmann attended the groundbreaking and led the participants in a warm-up exercise.

The opening of the fitness trail is planned for Easter 2026. It will also receive a special name, which will be chosen through a public naming contest. Suggestions can be submitted until November 2, and the best proposal will receive a prize donated by the city and Kammerer Medical Group.
